She says she is a doctor and she needs a doctor to attend her immediately. Her case is attended by Dr. House. Dr. House and his team of diagnosticians learn from Dana that she is a renowned cancer researcher and that she left the profession because it did not make her happy. Hearing this, the doctors question their own happiness. House says that happiness and fulfillment are not the same things. He suggests that his doctors are there not because their profession gives them happiness but because it gives them fulfillment. Dr. House also tells that everyone acts in his own self-interest rather than out of the greater good.
Taub feels more alive, working for Dr. House. He feels more satisfied than when he did tummy tucks and nose-jobs. Cuddy makes the disabled Dr. House climb stairs by putting a “out of service” notice on the elevator. Dr. House gets exhausted after climbing up the stairs and looks for his pain medicines in an urge. Cuddy also plants a tripwire at Dr. House’s office door. Because of this he falls and hurt his knee. She also steals his cane and turn off his heat and water services. She does all these for pure vengeance. However Dr. House, while attending his bleeding knee, says that he just wants things to get normal between him and Cuddy.
In this episode, Dr. House takes interest in Dr. Foreman and Thirteen’s medical issues as well as ethical issues. Foreman is in a bad situation of losing his license as thirteen showed signs of serious side effects from a drug, including signs of vision impairment. Dr. House however advises Dr. Foreman not to reveal things to the drug company as he would lose his license which he may need if Thirteen is in real trouble.
The final sequence of this wonderful episode deals with people who change, reevaluate and move on. Dr. House makes a resolution to allow Cuddy to do what she needs to do and he believes that this will get things into balance again.
