House Season 1 Episode 6, The Socratic Method

It is a story telling about the love between the mother and her son. This play is the sixth episode of this house written by John Mankiewicz and directed by Peter Medak. It is one of the beautiful stories in this house. Sixth episode tells about the real relationship between the mother and her son. The name of the mother character is Lucille Palmeiro, a good woman she was a homemaker. She really takes care his son very much and they live a peace and prosperous life. In their life lot of difficult situation comes suddenly they unable to face that difficult situation. The mother already have the disease called schizophrenia, it is a dangerous diseases, which kill the human being gradually. It is a psychological disorder due to that disease the patients are confused between the reality and virtual. They have fear about the disturbances and the language spoken by other people. The patients are like to avoid the society and their surroundings. One day the mother got severe leg pain; it is due to blood clot.

When a blood vessel is spoiled or damaged, it results in a coagulation of blood or clotting of blood. The blood clotting is nothing but the network or bunch of protein fibers, it is otherwise known as fibrin. The clotting is mainly depended on the proteins which lying the plasma. This blood clot is spread all over the body. Like that blood clot slowly move from leg to the heart, if heart doesn’t get the blood correctly it leads to severe effect to the concerned people. So Lucille Palmeiro severely affects by this effect. At that time she vomits the blood so the problem becomes very intense. So the doctor team is decided this is due to vitamin K deficiency. If vitamin K is consumed beyond the required level it is also problem for the consumer. If any person having lag in the vitamin K it leads to blood coagulation. Dr. House's team finds out some of the unused tablets named Ampicillin in her bag and some of the microwave burgers. The team identified that the mother already having soar throat problem. So it is easy for Dr. House's team to give diagnosis to the Lucille Palmeiro.

By passing the ultra sonic sound the team identified that she have cirrhosis. Cirrhosis is the dangerous disease, it damage the liver fully by drinking the alcohol in larger volume. So the team reveals that she have cancerous tumor. Dr. House's  team sends this ethanol to the particular region the tumor shrinks due to that ethanol. After finishing the operation the social service team come to the hospital to take Luke who is the son of Lucille. But Dr. House's team refuses to get any decision from the mother. At late night they found that the mother having Wilson’s disease, it is a problem related to the eye. Lucille already gets an operation to cure copper covered rings near the corneal region. The team uses the Socrates method to cure the patient completely and discharge the patient. The mother and son live happily throughout their life. This episode clearly paints the relationship between the good mother and her son.
