Jackson, a teenage boy collapsed due to severe pelvic pain during a basket ball match. He is taken to Dr. House. Jackson’s parents tell the doctors that he was born with genetic mosaicism. The doctors suspect that the boy may have a blind uterus. The parents also inform doctors that they recently started testosterone for Jackson by dubbing it as vitamins. They mention that the boy does not know about his genetic disorder and asks the doctors not to reveal it to the boy. Thirteen suggested to do an MRI but House denies. But when the parents asked Dr. House to do an MRI, House agreed without arguing. The MRI showed no signs of a blind uterus. The boy suddenly has a pericardial leak. The doctors feel that it could be due to the testosterone. Dr. House advises to start corticosteroids.
Meanwhile, Dr. House takes methadone at his office. He falls asleep. He becomes unresponsive when the team approaches him. They suspect that Dr. House would have taken heroin. Cuddy bans Dr. House from taking methadone in hospital. He quits. Dr. Foreman becomes in charge. Thirteen reports Dr. Foreman that she found a gastric fistula caused the patient’s bleeding. The doctors were to decide whether the problem is Zollinger-Ellison or scleroderma. The doctors decide to put the patient on proton pump inhibitors. If he gets better then the problem could be Zollinger-Ellison. If he does not get better then it is scleroderma. They analyze the problem based on the results.
Later Dr. House approaches Cuddy for a recommendation letter. His job is offered back. Dr. House reaches the hospital and the doctors update him about the diagnosis. Dr. House realizes that the boy should have taken super energy sports drinks which strained his kidneys. However when MRI was performed the test’s contrast dye affected the organs. Dr. House blames the over protective nature of the parents which very nearly killed their son.
