The hundred and third episode of “House” is “The Social Contract”. It is in fact the seventeenth episode of the fifth season of “House”. “House” is an American medical drama. The show’s main character is Dr. House, a medical expert heading a team of doctors at “Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital” which is fictional. In this particular episode which was aired on March 9th, 2009, Dr. House and his team attend the case of a book editor named Nick who loses his inhibitions. The medical team finds out that Nick has frontal lobe disinhibition as a result of which he speaks his mind without any control over what he says. This makes the medical team feel that he is just like Dr. House. This episode got a rating of 7.2/11 and 12.13 million viewers.

The crew of this episode includes Lesli Andrew Bernstein (director) and Doris Egan (screenwriter). The main stars of this episode are Dr. House’s character is done by Hugh Laurie, Dr. Cuddy’s role is done by Lisa Edelstein as, and Omar Epps as Dr. Foreman and Dr. Wilson is the character name of Robert Sean Leonard. Kal Penn (Dr. Kutner), Peter Jacobson (Dr. Taub), Olivia Wilde (Thirteen) are also part of the cast. Additional cast includes Susan Egan, Jay Karnes, Darcy Rose Byrnes, Jodi Harris, Devon Michaels, Carlos Arellano, Sheri Foster and Bobbin Bergstrom.

Nick’s nose suddenly starts bleeding when he makes ruthless comments about his colleagues. He collapses. This case is attended by House and his team of diagnosticians. It is found that Nick has frontal lobe disinhibition. Dr. House suggests Nick’s problems are due to alcohol or a brain tumor. The Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) does not give any clue and hence thirteen feels that the tumour could be in some other area. Dr. House advises them to do a nasal probe. Once the test is done, Dr. Kutner tells that the nasal test is clean. Hence Dr. House feels that the problem could be a brain damage. Dr. Foreman and Thirteen find that Nick could possibly have Multiple Sclerosis. Nick also suffers kidney failure and he is found to be stable on dialysis. The doctors discuss about the source of that and they feel that it could be due to leukemia or diabetes. Dr. House asks Dr. Taub to check Nick’s blood sugar level every two hours. When Nick is taken for a thyroid reuptake scan, he coughs and his lungs are filled with fluid. Since Audrey takes stray dogs into the house, they feel that Nick has Weil’s.

The team examines Nick’s full body scan. They find that he has abdominal aneurism. Dr. House has a breakthrough on Nick. Nick’s glucose level is found to be normal. He is found to have Doege-Potter syndrome. Dr. House advises his team to remove the fibroma. Nick then leaves the hospital. He congratulates his wife as she got a promotion. Dr. Wilson says that Dr. House is honest in his life and Dr. House admits that he can be kinder at times.
