Sports medicine is regarded as the 12th episode of the house. The sports medicine comes under the first season of the house. Here the story comes around the baseball player. Hank Wiggen is said to be well renowned baseball player in this episode. Unfortunately he breaks his arm and finally he is suffering from bone loss. Hank will be some day busy with the anti drug commercials. Hank had a baseball match one day. Hank is well fit and clean to open the baseball match.
Hank pitches the ball at that time his hand got broken. Hank was taken to hospital for treatment. Hank is too young and his bones are too thin to be fixed. House feels that Hank is having some cancer, which may be the reason for it. Every doctor in the hospital accepts his points but the Wilson couldn’t find the cancer yet. By verifying the baseball card of Hank, it is found that he has put up some 25 pounds extra after the Japanese league. Many suspects it might steroids.

Dr. Chase is needed to take urine sample of the Hank to test for steroids. Dr. Cameron and Dr. Foreman found that the test conducted proved to be negative and informed to Dr. House. Hank has higher level of beta 2 proteins. Dr. House is more confident that there may be some steroids problem in that. FAT PAD biopsy, abdominal CT scan and steroids tests proved to be negative. Dr. House is in unchangeable position that the today’s steroids are more hidden in many tests. Dr. House founds that Hank is suffering from hypogonadism known be the side effect after the usage of steroids.
Hank’s wife after hearing this news is astonished. Since there is not enough production of testosterone, it causes hypogonadism. Due to these reasons, Hank is also suffering from severe respiratory problem. Dr. House called Hank and his wife to explain the situation keenly. He inquires whether Hank is consuming drugs. But Hank neglects this question. Dr. House clearly explains the situation in a detail manner, as Hank's answer will be ultimate result for proceeding next level treatment. Finally, Hank submits that about five years ago his coach gave him something, which helped him to earn about 12 pounds. But Hank has no idea about what he consumed. Hank is checked for any Addison disease susceptible.
Lola, wife of Hank, reports to Dr. House that she is ready to donate one kidney for the sake of the life of her husband. She also proves that she has perfect donor match with Hank. Dr. Foreman next day reports to Dr. House that Hank is healthy enough to undergo transplantation. At the day end, Dr. House found that Hank is hallucinating, his heart rate seems to be fluctuating. Dr. House pays a normal visit to Warner where Hank pays a commercial set.
After sometime of investigations, Dr. House found that Hank consumed several pills to kill himself with the drug. Dr. House made the way to the Hank and carried Addison test; at that Hank, spills his urine bag on Dr. House. Dr. House informed about Hank's position to Lola and he noticed that she couldn’t smell the hank’s urine. He found that Lola has lost the smelling sensation for 6 six years. Treatment is now given for the both Hank and Lola.
