The 19th episode of the first season of the famous American medical drama series was the episode titled “kids”. The episode of “kids” was then premiered on Fox network on 3rd of May during the year of 2005. Lawrence Kaplow and Thomas L Moran were the people who wrote the story for the episode “kids”. Deran Sarafian was the director of the episode. This plot of this episode was based on purpura secondary to pregnancy. This episode also showcases how Dr. House fights the outbreak of the problem of meningitis.
A diving competition was organized on that particular day. The competition was then interrupted when they came to know that a man collapsed with virulent bacterial meningitis. This caused a scare of an outbreak. Dr. House then was not very much interested with quarantining the outbreak. He rather started examining one of the young divers who was present at the meet to take part in the competition. The fact that kindled Dr. House’s interest to examine that girl was that her symptoms were no way related to meningitis. Dr. Foreman was assigned the duty of providing assistance to Dr. House. But Dr. Chase was sent to examine the basic causes that would have been the reason for her symptom of severe pain in her neck.

They also found symptoms of her internal bleeding and the absence seizures in her. So to check with the reason Dr. Foreman runs a myriad test. The test showed up with a negative result. Dr. House then comes with a strange idea that someone was trying to sabotage her, as she was one of the most talented divers present at the meet. They found another new symptom of intracranial bleeding by using ultrasound technique. Finally, Dr. House found the reason for her intracranial bleeding and the reason was that she was pregnant. Her pregnancy at the age of 12 had caused thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura.
Dr. House then pondered over her immaturity and decided not to disclose this information to the girl’s parents. He wanted the girl to let her parents know this information for herself. She revealed to Dr. House that she wanted the baby and she did not let her parents know about this because the guy was a jerk. At the same time, Dr. Wilson and Cuddy wanted Dr. House to look for someone as a replacement for Dr. Cameron . Wilson had made some arrangement and he started to look for a replacement for Dr. Cameron. But he badly wanted Dr. Cameron back and this made lead to the rejection of a number of candidates of high quality for their small and very minor flaws in fashion sense.
He convinces Dr. House that he wanted to have Dr. Cameron back on their team. So Dr. House meets Dr. Cameron and explains her that everyone wanted to have her back on his or her team and he also added that if she turned down the proposal his job would be at risk. Dr. House also agreed to give Dr. Cameron whatever she wanted but she finally accepted his invitation to join their team again only when Dr. House promised that he would go on a date with Dr. Cameron later. The episode ends here leaving Dr. House in a bit of shock.
