Watch House Season 4, Episode 10, It's a Wonderful Lie

This is 80th episode of House M.D. and centered on Christmas celebration and joy.

The story deals about the treatment of a woman named Maggie, aged 34 who is suddenly paralyzed while training her daughter rock climbing wall and the daughter experience a broken wrist. After a chain of physiotherapies by orthopedists, neurologists got fruitless; Maggie gets admitted for Dr. House therapy. As Dr. House and fellow members try to heal her, Maggie starts losing her eyesight and her other organs slowly stops their functioning. There is also hereditary of breast cancer and Maggie also inherits one of the breast cancer genes. Knowing this complication, Maggie had already removed her breast surgically many years before she realized the threat of cancer. Apart from all of these ailments, both mother and daughter have a very good relationship and don’t have any secrets between them which trigger House to turn it false and to understand that lie exists in any relationship.

Taub shows his version of illness for Maggie that she would have got paraneoplastic syndrome due to left over breast tissue that might have developed into cancerous growth but the MRI of the chest resulted unconstructive. Maggie shows no steps of development but rather her health gets deteriorated and nothing was evident from all these. Her health kept deteriorating. Dr. House even makes a thorough search of her house to get some information on her health but nothing turns fruitful. The entire test shows no effects on her and all the tests results normal.

Dr. House and his fellows think that Maggie’s reaction could be mostly psychological, but this was not true when they discover that her complete skeleton was badly calcified and lymph nodes in her neck started to swell disturbing her breathing. The team members decide that bone marrow transplant would be the best approach. But Maggie does not allow the doctors to test on her daughter for matching the bone marrow. With lots of persuasion, Maggie finally comes out with the truth that her daughter is the biological daughter of a drug addict and the promise not to let the girl know about this. But Dr. House advises her to tell her daughter the truth and Maggie opens up to her daughter. After all procedures, Maggie is finally made aware of her unidentified incurable disease which is fatal for her.

Dr. House also treats another patient named Melanie who has strep throat, a disease that affects the pharynx and also larynx. The patient wears a necklace of Saint Nicholas who is the saint of children. Dr. House also finds that she has had HIV tests once in every 3 months and that the saint is also benefactor of prostitutes and so for her and so the reason for her necklace. She gets pustules in her neck and chest and Dr. House questions if she does donkey shows and he prescribes her contagious ecthyma, an illness caused from donkeys. Melina requests him to come for her show and finally Dr. House who is an atheist does go to the church to watch the show in which Melina plays the Virgin Mary.
