Watch House Season 1 Episode 18, Babies and Bathwater
The 18th episode of the first season of American medical drama was the “Babies and Bathwater”. This episode was premiered in the Fox network on 19th of April during the year of 2005. Peter Blake and David Shore wrote the teleplay while Peter Blake was the story writer. Bill Johnson was the director of this episode and the most amazing fact about this episode was that this was one of the only two episodes in which Dr. Cameron did not appear. This episode deals with the diagnosis of carcinoma.
The episode starts when Dr. House, Foreman and Dr. Chase work on a mystery case and try to solve the case. The case was that of a pregnant woman who was suffering from brain and kidney malfunctioning. At the same time, Vogler was trying to convince all the board of directors so as to dismiss Dr. House. Dr. Wilson supports Dr. House and at that time, Vogler made a call for dismissal of Dr. Wilson from the board - or he could resign from the hospital instead. Dr. Wilson chooses to resign from the hospital in order to save his reputation as a doctor. The main issue to fire Dr. House from the board was defeated and so the board has to wait at least one business day so that they could vote again on this issue according to the laws of the board.

During the next board meeting, Vogler finds Cuddy voting “no” and this triggered a vote for her dismissal too. Cuddy then gave a speech to the board about how Vogler is crazy and power hungry and answered to no one, and then walks out. The board went on dismiss Vogler as the chairman of the board rather than voting on the issue of firing of Dr. House or Cuddy. This triggered the departure of Vogel and his share of $100 million dollars. This resulted in shortage of funds and there were not enough nurses available to handle a meningitis outbreak.
Moving back to that mysterious case of Naomi, it was made clear that she had two choices and she has to choose any one from that. She was offered the idea of either she had to give a premature delivery of her child and then go for the small cell lung cancer treatment or that she had to carry her fetus till 29th week so that she could give her child better chance of survival. Naomi then decides that she would have a c-section. The very moment Vogler arrives and cancels the procedure. The father of that child who was carried by Naomi was given two choices of saving either his child or his wife. He wanted to save his wife. The procedure went wrong and Naomi started bleeding in her abdomen.
The father was confused over his idea of having a c-section but Dr. House convinced him that it was Naomi who wanted to the baby to be born. In the end, the baby cries were heard after a delicate procedure, but the mother died. At the same time, at the clinic, a couple got arrested for neglecting a child when Cuddy calls the social services. It was found that the parents got nutrition advice from qualified person but Dr. House performs a test, which revealed that the thymus had shrunk. This showed Cuddy why Dr. House was valuable.
