When Will the Next Episode of House MD Air?

I’m sure many of you noticed that there wasn’t a new episode of House MD last night, December 7, 2009. The reason is that they are taking their annual winter break.
The next episode will air on January 11, 2010, with episode 11, “The Down Low.”
There are always several reasons TV shows take breaks around the holidays. One reason could be that they are still filming more episodes – it takes more than a week to film and edit an episode, and we get a new episode every week. So logically, they have to take a break to give us what we want.
Also, many actors like to take breaks around the holidays.
But the main reason could be that during the holidays, a lot of people are on vacation or busy with friends and family. This means that there are less viewers, which equals lower ratings, which makes it pointless for FOX to air a new episode. They need to meet a quota and airing an episode on a day or season where very few people watch TV (besides our favorite corny Christmas shows) is just illogical for the company.
All I have to say is that: Thank God we don’t have to wait 4 months like we do during summer!
On Monday, December 14, 2009, they will re-air the season 5 Christmas special, “Joy to the World.“
